Pack Smart. Start Strong.
Practically Perfect Packing Printable
From one busy parent to another: here’s my real-family packing list that cuts stress (and overpacking).
Packing for Disney shouldn’t feel like a scavenger hunt. This post mirrors my official Packing List—the same checklist I share with clients—so you can pack fast, stay organized, and start your trip calm and ready for magic. Want the printable version now? Get it here: Yes I want the printable!
How to use this checklist
-
Print or save the list and check off as you lay things out.
-
Pack by person: use cubes or 1 color per person; rotate two pairs of broken-in shoes.
-
Stage your park bag the night before; recharge power banks and magic bands every evening.
-
Adjust by season: add layers for cool evenings or extra sun protection for summer.

Clothing & Footwear
-
Broken-in walking shoes (2 pairs per person: Think shoes you’d be able to walk 10,000+ steps in) Pro tip: use disposable shower caps to prevent shoe bottoms from touching clean items in your suitcase.
- Flip flops/slides for pool days, or shorter walks around the resort
-
Socks (moisture-wicking; extra pairs) My family loves Nike socks, and they’re by far the most sensory friendly socks we’ve used!
-
Park outfits (tops + shorts/pants) I like to roll my outfits together, so it’s grab and go.
-
Light layers (sweatshirt/cardigan) – Depending on the season and where you’re from.
-
Rain layer (poncho or packable jacket) – I prefer disposable ponchos.
-
Swimwear + cover-ups
-
Sleepwear / loungewear
-
Sun hats/glasses
Park-Bag Essentials (daily)
-
Refillable water bottles OR disposable from a grocery order (my top choice)
-
Portable phone charger + cables
-
Sunscreen + lip balm (SPF)
-
Hats / sunglasses / mini fan
-
Ponchos / stroller rain cover (if using stroller)
-
Tissues/wipes + hand sanitizer (I love the wet ones packs)
-
Small first-aid (bandages, blister care, pain reliever) – keep in mind there are first aid centers in each park, but I do bring a small kit for the hotel.
-
Snacks (salty, protein, sweet) I have been known to pull out a tube of Oreos when my youngest starts to melt down.
-
ID / room key / payment in small crossbody – use what you are comfortable with.
Toiletries & Health
-
Toothbrush/toothpaste, deodorant, hair ties/brush
-
Contacts/solution or glasses case
-
Basic makeup / skincare
-
Family meds, kids’ meds if needed (I always pack some kind of pain relief/fever reducer. You just never know)
-
Allergy relief / motion tabs (if needed)
Tech & Tickets
-
Phones + charging bricks
-
MagicMobile/MagicBand or ticket cards
-
Photo ID + credit card
Kids & Stroller Add-Ons (as needed)
-
Stroller tag (name/phone) + rain cover (or a disposable poncho works great for a single stroller)
-
Small blanket / fan clip / carabiners
-
Autograph book/bag/frame/shirt – Character handlers typically have a variety of Sharpies.
-
Change of clothes for younger kid
-
Quiet kit (coloring, small fidgets, iPad)
Hotel-Room Kit
-
Charging hub / extra outlet cube
-
Night-light / sound machine app (especially if staying in a Value resort. Those toilets can sound loud in the middle of the night)
-
Zip bags (gallon + sandwich)
Laundry & Organization
-
Packing cubes (color per person)
-
Washable mesh laundry bag – trust me, this helps keep the room so much neater.
-
A few detergent pods / dryer sheets (or they are available for purchase in the laundry facilities at your resort)
- If you aren’t keen on doing laundry on your vacation, pack a plastic compression bag to keep your dirty laundry separate from clean items on your trip home.
Travel Day
-
Printed/Offline confirmations – or screenshots!
-
Meds + change of clothes in carry-on
-
Headphones/entertainment for kids
-
Empty water bottles (fill after security) – or just buy a disposable one so it’s no biggie if it’s accidentally left behind.
Extras (nice-to-have add-ons)
-
Cooling towels / neck fan
-
Anti-chafe stick / moleskin or blister patches
-
Small umbrella (shade + drizzle) Pro Tip: When going through WDW security, hold the umbrella out in front of you – or you’ll have to have your bag searched.
-
Compact picnic blanket (parade/fireworks)
-
AirTags for stroller or luggage
If you see anything here that isn’t on your PDF, keep it in Extras and pack only if it fits your family.
